Privacy notice

Last updated 27 July 2026

The short version

The only personal data we collect is what a business owner types into the listing form. We collect nothing from readers — no account, no tracking, no analytics.

What we collect

If you submit the form on List your business, we collect: business name, your name, email, optional phone, website, category, area, postcode, a description and any notes.

If you are just reading the site, we collect nothing about you at all.

Why, and on what legal basis

We use your details solely to prepare your listing and to contact you about it. The lawful basis is legitimate interests — you asked to be listed, and replying is the expected use of that information.

We will not add you to a marketing list without asking you separately and clearly.

Who processes it

This site is hosted on Netlify and form submissions are handled by Netlify Forms, so Netlify processes your submission on our behalf. We do not pass your details to anyone else.

Anything that appears on a published listing is, by definition, public — but only what you approved goes on it.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. If that changes we will update this notice and add a cookie banner before doing so, not after.

How long we keep it

For as long as your listing is active, and up to twelve months after it ends or after our last contact with you, then we delete it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our using it. Ask and we will do it.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Contact
