Who we are
POLICYANDPLAY LTD (company number 17253846), registered office 7 Cosford Drive, Shortstown, Bedford MK42 0DQ, United Kingdom, is the controller of the personal data described here. We trade as Universal Guide Bedford. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under number ZC165321.
Contact us at hello@universalguidebedford.co.uk. We are not VAT registered.
The short version
The personal data we hold is what a business owner types into the listing form, and the emails you send us. We do not run accounts, advertising, tracking or third-party analytics. We do not sell personal data.
What we collect, why, and for how long
If you submit the form on List your business, we collect the business name, your name, email, optional phone, optional website, category, area, postcode, a description and any notes.

If you are only reading the site, we do not collect anything that identifies you beyond the technical data in the table above.
Who we share it with
We use these providers to run the site. They process data on our instructions:
- Netlify (USA): hosting, form handling and server logs.
- Cloudflare (USA): domain name services and the routing of email sent to hello@universalguidebedford.co.uk.
The fonts on this site are served from our own domain, so your browser does not contact Google to load them. We do not share your details with anyone else for their own purposes.
Anything that appears on a published listing is public by definition, but only what you have approved goes on it.
International transfers
Netlify and Cloudflare are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where a provider is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, we rely on that. Otherwise we rely on the ICO’s International Data Transfer Agreement or the Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own and run no advertising or tracking. Details are in our cookie notice. If that ever changes we will update this notice and add a consent banner before the new tags load, not after.
Marketing emails
We do not send marketing emails. Any email we send you about your listing is about that listing only. If we ever send marketing, you will have opted in first, and every such email will include a way to unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access);
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete (rectification);
- delete your data (erasure);
- stop using it while a question is resolved (restriction);
- send your data to you or another organisation in a usable format (portability);
- stop using it for our legitimate interests, or for direct marketing at any time (objection);
- withdraw any consent you have given, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similar effects. We reply to requests within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, email hello@universalguidebedford.co.uk with “Data protection complaint” in the subject. We will acknowledge it within 30 days and tell you the outcome.

Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page if our practices change, and show the new date at the top. For a material change we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
