Bedford Midland is the big one — Thameslink to London St Pancras, plus services north. It is what most people mean by 'Bedford station'.

Bedford St Johns is a small, single-platform station a short walk from the town centre and from the Cauldwell area. It is on the Marston Vale line, and that line stops at Kempston Hardwick. If you are working at the resort site, St Johns is the station that matters and almost nobody tells you that.

The line runs Bedford to Bletchley across the clay vale, calling at Bedford St Johns, Kempston Hardwick, Stewartby, Millbrook, Lidlington, Ridgmont, Aspley Guise, Woburn Sands, Bow Brickhill, Fenny Stratford and Bletchley.

It was built to serve the brickworks, which is precisely why it happens to run past a resort being built on those same brickfields. Kempston Hardwick and Millbrook are request stops — you signal the driver.

The A421 is the artery — it runs past the site and links to the M1 at junction 13 to the west and towards the A1 to the east. Expect construction traffic on it to increase substantially over the next few years.

Bedford town centre itself is small and walkable. Parking is mostly paid, and the one-way system takes a couple of goes to learn.

Local buses cover the town and the larger villages, though rural evening and Sunday services are thin. Check the specific route before relying on it for a shift pattern.

Bedford is flat and has a decent riverside network — the traffic-free path along the Great Ouse towards Willington and Sandy is genuinely pleasant. Cycling from the south of town to the site is feasible for the reasonably fit.
